A live-shopping platform for hosting shows with real-time auctions and flash sales.
OVERVIEW
Gavel lets sellers run live video shows where viewers bid in real-time auctions and grab flash sales. Sub-second latency between bid and screen was the core engineering challenge.
I worked across the React Native apps, the web client and the NodeJS realtime backend powering the auction engine.
WHAT I BUILT
- Built React Native buyer & seller apps.
- Engineered the realtime auction backend in NodeJS.
- Integrated Agora for low-latency live video.
- Modeled MySQL schema for bids and inventory.
